Curvy 2014. Mrs Choice Hinkelmann AKA JJ. She open up on her inspirations and her plans for the future….Enjoy it.
Tell us about yourself, where you’re from and a bit about ur self?
My name is Choice Hinkelmann AKA JJ. I’m from Edo State, Benin city.
I’m the first daughter of my parent, i
attended navy town secondary school lagos and got my degree in public administration at the prestigious Ambrose Ali university Ekpoma.
How do you came up with Thick African fab and what inspired the Miss curvy idea?
Thick African fab is a vision from heaven.
I am a makeup artist and this vision came to me when I was cooking at home. Before this, I have a big thick and fabulous friend, she is so beautiful but not confident with her self. She came to me one day saying; I need to travel for surgery. I asked why and She said; I hate myself. I begged her not to go, i insisted she excise and eat healthy and you will be fine but she refused. She travelled and never came back…She died.
Miss curvy 2014 was a fantastic event and a successful one, what are your plans for the future?
Thanks so much! Looking at miss curvy 2015. Making sure the fab, thick, big and beautiful ladies come out from their shell. Also looking at all state for auditions. Working so hard for Miss Curvy Africa.
What’s your biggest challenge in putting this together?
Omg! It is well..Going to companies for sponsorship and being rejected.
There was a day I went to a company for sponsorship, getting to the company, First question was! Do u know people from the government house?
Tears rolled down my cheeks..I said No and the man said to me; Sorry, there’s nothing I can do. I left the office with heart break.
But for the love I have for plus size ladies, I never stop pushing. To God be the glory, we made it.
With a successful event, I believe even multi nationals will be ready to sponsor miss curvy…what do you think?
